Community-Rooted Diligence

A community-rooted alternative investment diligence tool is a structured framework used to assess, compare, and make decisions about where capital is placed, replacing traditional ROI-driven screens with criteria defined by community priorities.

A community-rooted alternative investment diligence tool is a structured framework used to assess, compare, and make decisions about where capital is placed, replacing traditional ROI-driven screens with criteria defined by community priorities. It guides investors and decision-makers through a systematic review of purpose, governance, financial sustainability, risk, and impact by examining who holds power, how decisions are made, whose needs are met, and whether capital use strengthens long-term community capacity. Rather than optimizing for maximum financial return, the tool functions as a practical decision aid that helps allocate capital responsibly, transparently, and in alignment with community well-being
